ultiple Peripheral Pulmonary Artery Stenoses in Adults: A Rare ause of Severe Pulmonary Hypertension Necessitating ung Transplantation

چکیده
tenoses of multiple peripheral pulmonary artery branches represent a rare cause of pulmonary hypertension in hildren, but the prognosis is very poor for such patients. Herein we describe 2 patients with multiple peripheral ulmonary artery stenoses (MPPAS) presenting with severe pulmonary arterial hypertension in adulthood, which as only once been described previously. Both patients lived without significant health problems for decades; owever, after onset of symptoms, their medical condition declined rapidly, necessitating lung transplantation everal months after the diagnosis despite vasodilator therapy. Because MPPAS mimics chronic thromboembolic ulmonary hypertension, this entity may being underdiagnosed, decreasing the possibility of adequate therapy. Heart Lung Transplant 2005;24:1984–7. While pulmonary thromboembolism is common, thromboembolic pulmonary hypertension is very rare. The present case is a 35 year old woman with chronic thromboembolic pulmonary hypertension, who presented with severe dyspnea and leg edema, following an earlier thrombotic event of 10 years earlier, after her her second childbearing. She also had a history of the first childbearing complicated with c...

Percutaneous pulmonary balloon valvuloplasty (PBV) remains the treatment of choice for pulmonary stenosis (PS). This procedure is effective, safe and gives excellent results. Pulmonary artery (PA) dissection is a rare complication of PBV. This report is a case of an asymptomatic 17-year-old male with a history of PBV due to severe PS dating back to fifteen years ago. During recent echocardiogra...

No evidence of inflam...
